Afial 2016

More than 6100 professional visitors attended Afial 2016, the seventh Edition of the only Sound, Lighting and Audiovisual Technology Show that takes place in Spain and where the most representative companies of the sector presented their novelties and made known the latest trends in the industry in an incomparable frame full of light and sound.

More than 60 exhibiting companies

This last edition has had an occupancy of 100% of the available space, the three dimensions of the Multipurpose Pavilion being complete, as well as beating all the attendance records expected. They highlighted the great interest of manufacturers, distributors, associations and professionals in the audio, sound, lighting and audiovisual technology sectors; and the commercial relationships generated among the many professionals who visited the event. Another novelty this year was the commitment of Afial for the integration of the Iberian market, counting with the presence of the Portuguese exhibitor NAN; He and his entire team were delighted with the event and ensured their participation in future editions.



Full capacity in the Conference Room

In addition to catching up on the latest trends in the sector, visitors enjoyed an extensive program of presentations that aroused great interest among the attendees, reaching to complete the capacity allowed in the room. A great success in attendance and participation! Afial counted in this edition with the collaboration of international speakers such as the Israeli lighting designer Yaron Abulafia, member of the Association of Lighting Authors (AAI) and of the International Organization of Scenographers, Technicians and Theater Architects (OISTAT); an outstanding lighting guru who instructed all those present in The Art of Light onstage and Eddy Bøgh, Danish consultant, educator and author expert in the field of forensic audio analysis, acoustics and practical electroacoustics, discipline of the who taught a master class very expected by all attendees to the Seventh contest.



Other highlights

The notoriety of the presentation of Álvaro Luna (partner director of the videoescena section in AAI Adadi) and Gustavo Montes (Doctor in Audiovisual Communication); two experts in the art of the VideoScene, the audiovisual in the performing arts. Kiko Margalef (Audio Product Manager Earpro, S.A.), Pedro Medina (Sales & Technical Manager Neotecnica) and Samuel Leirado (Product Manager Magnetron), discussed with the attendees on the current Legislation of the spectrum for wireless microphones; one of the issues that currently concerns the sector. The assistants did not miss the opportunity to consult all their doubts.



Another of the presentations that aroused great interest and expectation among attendees was the presentation of the Guide to Rigging in the entertainment industry edited by Afial with the collaboration of Pablo Moreno, rigger of recognized professional prestige in the sector. Sample of his work could be seen in the dome of the Madrid Arena Pavilion, from which hung the numerous rigging points and engines set by Punkblito and his team. The conferences were closed with the round table on Current events of mastering: new distribution channels with the participation of Juan Hidalgo (Mastertips Mastering), Pedro Viñuela (Nexo Studio), Miguel A. González (Black Box Mastering), Daniel Altarriba (Wake Up Estudio) and Antonio Escobar who offered his support as a moderator in collaboration with the Audio Engineering Society (AES Spain).



Indoor sound demonstrations

As in previous editions, the interior sound demonstrations also took place, in which the Prodj’s, Lexon, Magnetron, Neotecnica, Seesound, Soundpro & Light and Audiomusic teams played. Among the participants, he highlighted the instrumentalized performance of Soundpro & Light, an exhibitor who demonstrated on-site the sound of his team accompanied by acoustic guitar and live voice. Undoubtedly, the indoor demonstrations were the perfect space for the meeting between exhibitors and customers. Afial has once again focused on designing an event model that offers both the exhibitor and the visitor an ideal space to cover all their needs with a wide range of products and activities. Outdoor sound demonstrations

This year, one of the activities that attracted the most public were the exterior sound demonstrations, where the quality of the sound equipment of WDB boxes, Magnetron, Musicson, Nan, Neotecnica, Power Light, Rent Music and Soinua The demonstrations were held in two morning and afternoon sessions next to the outdoor esplanade annexed to the exhibition area where another of the major bets this year was given; a novel structure to hang all the equipment on it and one of the best tables in the market as a single control. Undoubtedly, in this edition the exterior sound demonstrations shone by the huge influx of professionals from the sector.

Meeting with InfoComm

On the part of Pamela M. Taggart, CTS Director of Development in Europe of InfoComm International made a presentation of his organization for the national companies, speaking in a broad way of the objectives of his company, and of his project of implantation in Spain. This presentation fits within the contacts that InfoComm and AFIAL are maintaining in order to reach a collaboration agreement between both organizations. The meeting was followed by a large group of companies and technicians who showed great interest in the courses taught by InfoComm and the degrees granted by that organization.
